The pride of the Mahatma Gandhi Institute is also its auditorium, known for its impressive attributes. With a seating capacity of 650, highly sophisticated light and sound systems as well as its remarkable acoustics, the auditorium plays a prominent role and contributes largely to the socio-cultural life of the Mauritian community. It is also used by the Government and other bodies to house major conferences, national and international events. The Subramania Lecture Theatre, situated in the School of Mauritian, Asian and African building has a seating capacity of 100 is used for delivering lectures, talks and seminars on a regular basis.

Monday to Friday 9.00 a.m to 5.00 p.m, Saturday 9.00 a.m to 3.00 p.m, Sundays and Public Holidays Closed.
 
The MGI Library came into existence along with the MGI which was created by an Act of Parliament in 1970. The aims and objectives of the MGI library is to help in the fulfillment of the aims and objectives of the Mahatma Gandhi Institute and, hence, to provide library facilities to all those interested in the cultural, political, economic and social development of Mauritius and of all such countries which have influenced life in Mauritius.

It operates as a University Press thereby enabling the Institute to bring numerous research works and publications at a subsidized cost. One of its chief characteristics remains its multilingual section. This department continues to make significant contributions to various socio-cultural organizations in terms of Publications.

The MGI secondary School Complex hosts a very good sports infrastructure for students. Its main attributes are the Gymnasium and Football Playground. Students usually are found always involved in sport activities like the cross-country, playing football or holding Badminton tournaments and so on in a very friendly and enjoyable competitive atmosphere.

The Mahatma Gandhi Institute also provides specialized laboratories for its secondary and tertiary student population. The MGI main campus hosts a language lab specially designed for tertiary students and  up to date computer laboratories which are used for digital arts, computer animation and computer projects amongst others.Internet facilities are also offered free of charge to students in the tertiary and secondary sectors.
