The Mahatma Gandhi Institute Press is one of the rare printing houses of its kind in the country. It operates as a University Press thereby enabling the Institute to bring numerous research works and publications at a subsidized cost. One of its chief characteristics remains its multilingual section. This department continues to make significant contributions to various socio-cultural organizations in terms of Publications.
The Department of Publishing and Printing is set up to provide the highest possible standard of excellence in copying, designing, printing and binding to all departments of the MGI, Sister Institutions, Ministries and Socio-Cultural Organizations and establish itself as a leading press for the production of printing work in Oriental Languages. The department exhibits high personal and organizational productivity and efficiency, fosters co-operation and provides support for the institutional strategic objectives, offers the highest quality services, is a leader in print technology and maintains financial integrity/accountability and continuity of services.
The Department of Publishing and Printing is committed to the values of co-operation and communication, mutual respect, creativity and innovation, excellence, service and diversity. It also supports Institutional and Departmental Strategic Goal Achievement by compiling research work for the development of new publications, preparing tertiary education handout and work books, producing quality magazines in all oriental and other languages, compiling of conference, workshop and lecture presentation papers, printing of poster, pamphlets, brochures, programmes, invitation cards, circular letters, council papers, printing of letter heads, envelopes, record books, registers and other stationery, printing of receipt books, cash books, van log books, invoices, purchase orders, purchase and stores requisitions, goods received notes, etc, producing of school report books, journals, examination papers and materials, printing of Library index cards, labels, stickers, binding of library books, note books, booklets, registers, publications, and carrying out laminating works.
