Dear students and parents,

The Gandhian Basic School (GBS) was set-up in 1984 aimed at embodying the Gandhian sense of social justice as well as Gandhian principles of basic, adapted, practical education. The two constituent departments of the MGI,namely the MGI Secondary School and the Gandhian Basic School dedicated to secondary education, have made a difference, not only in imparting knowledge and skills but also promoting the overall development-affective and cultural- of the child. The Gandhian Basic School runs Basic/Pre-Vocational Classes and Basic/Pre-Vocational education leads to the NTC3/NAS (National Trade Certificate 3 / National Apprenticeship Scheme) of the IVTB and mainstream education to SC and HSC examinations.  Subjects taught at Basic/Pre-Vocational include a core related to general and functional education and practical subjects.
