Decentralization of Music and Dance, Distance Education and E-Learning Department
Contact: Dr. Mrs G. Ramyad, Senior Lecturer and Head (Ph: 4032000 ext 2155) This Section has been set up within the School for Performing Arts to look after all activities pertaining to the promotion and decentralization of Indian Music and Dance across the island and Distance Education and E-Learning. The Section is primarily responsible for the teaching of Indian Music and Dance in the Mahatma Gandhi Secondary Schools, the Regional Centres, Womens' Centres and Socio-cultural Organizations, and for developing courses to be offered through Distance Education (DE) mode and for designing and developing e-learning materials.
Presently, 20 Educators, 5 Assistant Instructors, 21 Part-timers are providing their services in different disciplines of Indian Music and Dance. The Department has as Goals the following:
